Carrall Street Greenway

February 8th, 2007
Construction has begun on the Carrall Street Greenway. I have mentioned this greenway in my seminars as a part of the revitilization of the east side and a benefit to those living, looking to live or invest in this area. An excellent source of information about this area is The Carrall Street Journal edited by Carol Sill, a talented writer and artist who I have had the pleasure to meet at sev ...

Vancouver The Great

February 7th, 2007
I was recently at a presentation by The Real Estate Channel a newly launched Cable and Internet based station. They started the presentation with this segment from "This Hour has 22 Minutes" on Vancouver being named the most livable city in the world. I question the woman who says she paid $585,000 for a 400 sq.ft. condo. That's a bit extreme and if that's the case I suggest she get a new Rea ...

Volume Down

December 16th, 2006
The average price for a resale home in Canada's major markets fell by almost $3,500 last month, as prices tumbled in a couple of the country's most expensive cities. The average resale home sold for $298,094 in November, according to figures from the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA). That's down from the $301,516 average in October, but is still up 9.4 per cent from a year earlier. S ...

Real Estate TV

December 4th, 2006
The only channel dedicated to Real Estate in Vancouver has just gone live. Now Novus customers can flip to channel 80 and see real estate listings, interviews, neighbourhood videos plus much more 24 hours a day 7 days a week. For non-Novus customers there is a website that has similar content. Their site is just getting off the ground but it has some listings as well as videos of some of Vanc ...

Business is Booming!!

December 1st, 2006
I am often asked by those thinking of investing in Real Estate... who is going to buy all those condos being built? I read an article today in 24 Hours by Susan Boyce which echos what I have been saying about the demand for condos in Vancouver, especially areas like Yaletown, Beach Cres. and False Creek. These areas appeal to the new generation of retirees. These retirees are not the old sty ...

Here is the latest news release from the British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA): Vancouver, BC – November 24, 2006 BCREA figures indicate BC’s residential sales volume on the Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®) reached $2.96 billion in October, up 7 per cent from October 2005. Area to Watch - Marpole

November 17th, 2006
One of the topics at my Meetup Real Estate Group as well as at my public seminars is up and coming areas to buy Real Estate. Recently, there was an article in 24Hours which agreed with my areas of Crosstown (where Gastown, Downtown and Chinatown meet) as well as Cambie and 12th. The article added one that I had not considered, Marpole. Since then I have been holding open houses on the weekend ...

Area to Watch - Crosstown

November 2nd, 2006
Recently an article ran in 24Hrs Newspaper about the neighbourhood of Crosstown, in downtown Vancouver. This is the name of the area where Chinatown, Gastown and Downtown meet, and includes the Woodwards project. This is also an area that I have been watching as a good area for investment and growth. According to the article written by Susan Boyce, the average price is $600 per sq.ft and $350 ...
