Holidays and Real Estate
I have been away on holiday for the past few weeks, enjoying this beautiful province of ours. I have been in Tofino/Ucluelet and Salt Spring Island. Of course I couldn't visit these areas without visiting the local real estate offices. It seems that there is some big plans for Ucluelet, including a golf course development. Not sure how I feel about that kind of development in that beautiful wild area.
On Salt Spring Island, the Realtor I spoke to felt that prices were going to start falling a bit after the summer. Their market is not as excuberate as our Vancouver market. It seems that similar to the Whistler market, prices have risen too high for the family market but have stagnated for the luxury market. One thing he did note was that any property was highly rentable on the Island. I think I 'm going to investigate this market a little further. It's an excuse to visit the island!
